Sauce for hamburgers with gherkins
Remember that all the ingredients can be “modified” as you wish, as well as the quantities.
150 g mayonnaise
1 tablespoon barbecue sauce or ketchup
1 teaspoon French mustard
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon Perrins or Worcestershire sauce
1 pinch garlic powder
1 pinch onion powder
1 teaspoon each of dill, thyme and oregano
Salt and pepper
Put all the ingredients in a blender: mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, mustard, chopped gherkins, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, thyme, oregano and salt and pepper. If you like, you can add a spicy ingredient.
Whisk for a few seconds and you will notice that the mixture becomes creamy and the gherkins are perfectly crushed.
Once whipped, taste the sauce in case you need to correct the flavour by adding more than one ingredient. Perhaps mayonnaise to soften the flavour or more gherkins to give it that touch of vinegar.
